The latest restrictions announced by the Victorian Government will impact your family member in our accommodation group homes. As such we will be fully complying with the Government restrictions for the next six weeks.
The following will apply from 9th July, 2020:
The four reasons you can leave home:
- shopping for food or other essential items
- work or study, if you cannot work or study from home
- to provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or seek medical treatment
- for exercise (outdoor exercise only, with only one other person or members of their household).
All of our clients that live in our homes are impacted by these new restrictions and caregivers are instructed to again implement the strategies we previously had in place up until mid-May 2020.
If your family member has returned to their Day Placement and it is remaining open over the next six weeks, we will discuss with you and you loved one on a case by case basis about continuing to attend. If the day services are adhering to the government restrictions including social distancing and hand hygiene and your loved one would like to continue to attend we will support them to do so if that is what you want. Our clients will be temperature checked on returning home and directed.
In regards to visiting your family member, we are asking that you do not visit for the period of these restrictions, the mobile technology that was available last time is still in place to enable face time and video calls. If there are extenuating circumstances around the need to visit this will be assessed on a case by case basis with your Manager and myself at all times.
All of our caregivers that work in accommodation are screened before coming to work and their temperature is taken on arrival to the house. We have ample supplies of hand sanitiser, gloves and now face masks to ensure everyone is kept safe.
